Character Breakdown
Eddie Ryan - A man in the present, remembering his time as a student in Catholic school in the 1950s. He is good-hearted and kind, even if he makes mistakes.
Becky Bakowski - A woman in the prsent, a very studious child and devout in her faith. She has weight and body issues while she is young, but she gains confidence as she grows older, both because of and in spite of losing weight, which also does not go to her head. She becomes more steadfast in her resolve as the years go by.
Eddie and Becky are the central romantic couple.
The Girls
Mary Kenny - Clearly very smart, but also a brown-noser.
Virginia Lear - Athletic, a bit of a tomboy, and can be intimidating to the boys.
Nancy Ralansky - Sweet, but a bit simple sometimes. The most beauty conscious of the girls.
The Boys
Mike Depki - The leader, the cool one, bit of a class clown.
Felix Lindor - Wears glasses and is blind as a bat without them. Believes a lot of myths about girls and likes numbers.
Louie Schlang - Slower than the other boys and an overthinker, especially when asking questions.
The Clergy
Father O'Reilly - The priest in charge of the school and the parish. He’s a bit tired.
Sister Helen - Acts as a school teacher and reminder to the students of proper behavior.
Sister Lee - An older nun with a stern reputation and a distinct personality.
Sister Monica Marie - A nun with strong opinions, who is also the high school gym teacher.
Sister Anne/Scretary - A nun in songs and dance numbers, the role doubles with the Secretary, who does appear and have lines in the first scene. She works for the school principal.
Father Gannon - A parish priest in song and dance numbers.
